The FurmaFast™ has been designed to be installed
by the client’s competent core team to tackle emergency repairs on live
through-wall leaks and wall thinning sections of pipe work.
A fast, effective emergency repair solution
Furmanite fully understands the problems associated with low pressure
leaks and their potential effects to normal plant operation.

FurmaWrap can be used underwater and on wet surfaces, is easy to
apply, versatile, cost-effective. FurmaWrap has been validated in
accordance with the requirements of ISO TS 24817 and ASME PPC-2 Article
4.1 for the repair of pipes that are not leaking and the thickness of
the repair required is determined by assessment of the defect in
accordance with these guidelines.
FurmaWrap is available in a range of widths and lengths to suit
different pipe diameters and defect sizes and can be applied to form a
continuous repair along an extended length. It is an ideal solution for
pipes where corrosion has reduced the remaining wall thickness to below
the minimum allowable or where mechanical damage has affected the line.
It provides excellent corrosion protection and strengthening even when
applied to wet surfaces or underwater.
FurmaWrap combines a high-strength, glass fibre reinforcement with a
durable, moisture-cured polyurethane resin. The system is
factory-manufactured so that the glass fiber cloth arrives on site
already impregnated with the resin. An initial layer of epoxy adhesive
is first applied to fill any defects and provide a corrosion barrier.
The composite is applied over the top of this to provide the strength.
Installation is therefore straightforward, safe and fast and gives a
repair that will outlast the 20 years life currently allowed in the ISO
and ASME guidance documents. Whilst best suited for straight lines,
elbows and reducers it can also be used to repair tees and other
off-takes and can be applied to wet surfaces or even under water. With
installation taking typically only 20-30 minutes and a cure time of two
hours, it’s easy to see how FurmaWrap can save you time and money on a
regular basis.
Date Code on outer box says 2/2016. Sold as-is. I opened a package, soaked in water to activate, it hardened very nicely.
